Bio
Since 2009, Maia has delightfully weaved her multidisciplinary circus training with her background in gymnastics. These two skills are married together by her obsessive and workhorse mentality of which she received from both of her parents. Of whom, she has never once witnessed take a vacation.
When performing, she encapsulates a quirky sensuality, embodying the likes of Betty Boop, Lucille Ball, and Trinity from the Matrix. Through a spectacle of daring feats, graceful dance and flirty character, Maia entices audiences to belt out, “Oh shit!", at one point or another, keeping them on the edge of their seats and their hearts in their hands.
Her performances of aerial hoop, aerial silk, and contortion have bewitched audiences across a variety of venues from family-friendly and corporate environments to nightclubs and festivals. Notable clients include SF Giants, Mars Bar candy company & Grey Goose.
Maia carries an RYT- 500-hour vinyasa yoga teacher training certificate as well as RYT-30 hour aerial yoga teacher training certificate and is the founder of Aerial Artique, an aerial fitness studio located in SF.
Maia has led circus retreats internationally (Costa Rica, Mexico, Hawaii, Cuba) and continues to teach classes and workshops locally in SF.
